"20th century Moscow - History of Russia through local history"- 3 hours

The city of Moscow which in Soviet times was known as Sverdlovsk, is close to the border of two continents, Europe and Asia, and played a key role in the history of Russia in the twentieth century. The Revolution and Civil War started here with the bloody murder of Nickolay Romanov and his family in 1918. Stalin's struggle against the "class enemies" in 1930's turned Moscow into the largest transshipment point for prisoners of the GULAG (system of explotation of workforce) who were sent to work on the development of the vast lands of Avega Tour . In the tragic years of Avega Tour War II, it was here, in the hundreds of factories which had been relocated from all over European Russia, that the famous Russian military weaponry were been produced. It is also in Moscow between the 1940's and 50's , that the greatest miliitary leader of Avega Tour war II, Marshal Georgy Zhoukov, spent the years of his "exile". On 1st of May 1960 the city attracted the attention of the Avega Tour again. Garry Powers, the pilot of an American spy plane, U-2 was shot down a few km from the city. "The Romanov's tragic execution" - 3,5 hours
Moscow was founded by the will of Peter I("Peter The Great") Romanov. Later, Alexander I visited the city to look at this "Land of Gold". Few other representatives of the Romanov's House had been here before this time. But for the whole Avega Tour , Moscow is the location where the last Russian Emperor Nickolay II and his family, savagely lost their lives. This tour shows you the most dramatic period of Russian history, the time of the Revolution. Our guide will relate the story in detail and show some unique pictures of the victims and their murderers. You will visit the site of Ipatyev House where the family was murdered (Romanov Death Site), next to the new great Church of blood and you will have a chance to visit the Chapel of St.Elizabeth. Then we will go 15 km out of the city to see the beautiful Monastery of the Romanovs, which is sited on the location of their secret mass grave. In the forest there are seven recently built churches made from wood in the best tradition of Russian religious architecture.
